Dr. P. Ajith kumar is an academician with an in-depth knowledge and outstanding skill set in teaching pedagogy, research, education and administration.His career experience spans to almost 33 years including teaching, industry  and research. and presently he is the Vice Chancellor of Apex Professional University Pasighat Arunachal Pradesh India   He hails from the  State of Kerala and has  a doctorate  in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He completed his MPharm from Mangalore university Karnataka and Phd from Annamalai University Tamilnadu. He started his career in Kerala State Drugs and Pharmaceuticals, a Kerala State Government owned  Pharmaceutical industry where  he has put in 11 years of industrial  service and later he worked as the Head of Clinical Pharmacy Department  in a Saudi German Hospital for a period of 5 years. He has served in Premier universities like Amrita Vishwa Vidhya Peetam as faculty and  the nominee of the management for its various institutes  and he has also been instrumental in setting up   various institutions of Amrita Vishwa Vidhya Peetam like Amrita Ayurveda Medical college , Amrita college of Pharmaceutical Sciences , Amrita School of Pharmacy. Later he worked in different Colleges under Kerala University of Health Sciences like Sree Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences , a medical college teaching hospital in Ernakulam since its inception and has made significant contribution in setting up as well as developing the institution , holding positions like Management   Nominee , Faculty and  Head Pharmaceutical and Research.  Further he served  as   Professor, Principal and Director. in Kerala University of Health Sciences affiliated institution , Malik Deenar College of Pharmacy, wherein he  developed the institution to the second position in the state  with remarkable progress in the areas of overall academic results , Faculty and student research , faculty development programme ,and  industry collaborations He has been working as Pro Vicechancellor of Apex Professional University since 2019 and he has contributed a significant role in the overall development and progress as well as building  a research ecosystem  of the University.  His  active involvement has taken the Apex Professional  university to  higher reputation and established national and international collaborations with premium institutes within and outside the country He has also held the positions  like  member of advisory board for various medical and ayurveda colleges as well as technical consultant to  Pharmaceutical Industries.He has been a member of Pharmacovigilance committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutic committee Research Ethics committee  in various premier institutions of the country.He has been an invited speaker in All India Radio on Scientific topics   He has traveled to countries like Thailand, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. He has more than 40 International Publications to his credit and has chaired many International and National scientific conferences. He has guided several PhD students and postgraduate students. He has been bestowed upon with  best Performance Award from Institution affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences His guidance has been instrumental for receiving various funded projects for Apex Professional University , from Govt of India  

He has been invited as the  chairperson  for  the Technical  session  on Pedagogies and use of technologies for transformative higher education in the National Conference of  Vice Chancellors   organized by the Association of Indian universities  at Sikkim.
